RETURNS TO BRAZIL [1644-2002]

This is the first exhibition of the set of paintings produced by Dutch painter Albert Eckhout when he lived in Brazil as a member of John Maurice of Nassau’s court. He went down in history as one of the first European painters to depict Brazil’s nature and its inhabitants. Albert Eckhout Volta ao Brasil was granted the award for Best Exhibition of 2003 by the Brazilian Association of Art Critics (ABCA).
